Tribute to Mother -Wai Xinyi(19) Title: My 'Sun'...

~POEM~
"The one who cares for me,
The one who suffers for me.
The certain one who loves me,
The certain one who dotes on me.
Just like the air, I cannot live without.
Just like the Sun, who warms
my heart.
Only with my mother,
that I can smile like the sunshine.
Only with her care,
that I can grow up.
Dependent on her, like the Sunflower is to the Sun,
Needing her, like the Sun is to the Sunflower."

The Sun & it's rays.
They're just like my mother, giving her warmth & care to me.
The Heart that shines out of others.
It's my mother's caring heart that has always put up with my nonsense.
The brown dots, soil-like pattern.
It's the fertilizers.
It represents the teachings I was given by my mother throughout my growing years.
The sunflower.
It's me. The 'me' that has grown over the years along with my mother's guidance.

Sunflower cannot do without the Sun.
Just like me, no matter how old I am, I cannot do without my mother.
"Only with my mother, that I can smile like the sunshine."

Tribute to Mother -Tan YiPing(17)

This picture shows my mother's heart . I used red for the heart to represent my mother's heartwarming heart . Black to show sometimes i made my mother angry but she didnt want to show that she's upset , living in darkness . Yellow to show that she is bright and cheerful . The blue wings to show that she can actually have her own freedom but to take care of us , she had to sacrifice her time .

Poem :
My mother ,
Loving and caring every minute for me .
My mother ,
Is always there , everywhere for me .
My mother ,
is everything to me .
Her heartwarming heart , is warmer than the sun , brighter than the stars .
My mother , the most beautiful person I've ever seen .

Tribute to Mother -Chen Lin(1) Title: She...

PICTURE DESCRIPTION
The background of this picture i painted in black as to show that life is not so easy, especially in our teenage life.
In the centre of the picture, there is a road painted bright yellow as to show that my mummy is just like the sun, who brightens my days. In the middle, there is a stick man who is holding a red umbrella . It represents me.
The umbrella is painted in red as to represent my mummy's LOVE.
The blue dots, which is the rain in the background represents the difficulties in my life. The red umbrella protects me from the rain, which is just like how my mum's love helps me went i faced difficulties.
The compass on the right hand side is to guide my way in the dark.
THE POEM
You are like the sunshine,
brightens my days.
You are like a umbrella,
protects me from the rain.
You are like the compass,
leads me when I am lost.
How do I live without you?

Tribute to Mother - Lim EnRu(7)

-This picture depicts the scene whereby my mother is the star in the whole universe. She is the biggest star in the picture which represents that she is unique and special. I wanted to show that she's special thus i took the sentence " like the star to me in the whole universe " to paint this picture.

Poem:

My mother, the warm and caring one.
Her courage, positive mindset that captivates one's mind.
Impressed me.

I could not take my eyes off her gentle looking eyes and warmth smile.
She's the angel that had just came down from heaven,
With her arms wide open to comfort me,
For me to move on.

She's like the scorching sun and while I'm the little cactus
Receiving light from the sun to survive.

My mother, which i believe is the best on the earth,
Is like the star to me
In the whole universe.

Tips on using acrylic paint

Acrylic Painting Techniques Paint Tubes

Acrylic painting is one of the newest painting mediums, being introduced as 'recently' as 1955.

These paints have come a long way since then, with an ever-widening range of paints and associated art supplies.

If you've ever painted the walls of your home with latex or emulsion paint, you'll have used a very close cousin of the these paints. In fact I use white matt emulsion, tinted with yellow or brown, to put a base coat on the canvasses I prepare for some of my acrylic painting work.

The acrylic painting technique offers both the new and experienced artist a very versatile method of painting.

It's a water-based medium and the usual texture and consistency is similar to oil paints. However, unlike oils, you can get acrylics in a wide variety of densities (or 'viscosity' as it's sometimes called). These range from a very thin, ink-like consistency able to be used in airbrushes through various degrees of 'flow' to the consistency of soft cream cheese.

This allows really heavy 3D (impasto, or paste) effects. And you have the choice of either mixing the paints with the additives to create a solid color throughout the impasto, or letting the impasto dry, then painting over it.

Various substances are available to be added to the paint to create all sorts of textures. Or you can use your own, such as plaster or sand, for a further variety of textured effects.

All the brands and thicknesses can be thinned back down using water. Some artists actually use thinned down acrylic in a pure 'watercolor' style.

Acrylics, although similar in style and finish to oils, gives subtely different but important qualities to your work. Probably, its biggest benefit is its speed of drying.

Tips on using acrylic paint_2 (On canvas)

  1. Step 1

Decide what your composition will be and what style you'd like to paint in. If you'd like a watercolor effect, thin the acrylic with a thinning medium, or create a thick, "impasto" look with a thickening medium. You can even use an oil medium to create the look of oil paint with less mess and in far less time.

  2. Step 2

Use thicker, artist quality acrylics with a heavier concentration of pigment to get the best results. Every craft store or art supply store offers a larger variety of acrylic mediums and colors and you can even look at a technique book for project ideas. Acrylic is best suited to synthetic brushes and cleans up easily with soap and water before it dries.

  3. Step 3

Prepare a palette with the colors you'll need first and any medium you need to mix in to the paint. Note that acrylic does dry quickly so use less paint rather than more at first and just reload the palette often and mix in the medium in small amounts. Keep a paper towel handy to catch drips and wipe brushes.

  4. Step 4

Paint in layers with thinned acrylic or color block the composition in bold, opaque sections and then work in thick layers to create depth. The beauty of acrylic is that it can be turned into whatever you need it to be quite easily.
